Feeling Like A Mid-Year Christmas!

Isn’t it beautiful?! I am completely mesmerized by snow. I think that growing up in South-East Asia has made me especially obsessive – I literally cannot stay away! I’d been anxiously peering out the window last night, hoping the snow would come. At 7.30 this morning I had another check – and still nothing. Finally, at 9.30 we awoke to this magic! I’m never one to sit still, so after a proper cooked breakfast (nom nom nom!) we headed out on a two hour walk. It was wonderful! We weaved our way over the roads, trying our best not to slip over – luckily there were no serious casualties!

I was so excited to wear one of my latest thrifting finds. This faux fur leopard hat was originally intended to appear in the shop – but has since made it’s way into my wardrobe! I’ve been eagerly waiting for colder weather to emerge, just so I could wear it out. It makes me feel like the factory girl herself; Edie Sedgwick. I paired it with a Chloé coat I thrifted several years ago, my new raincoat, and both boots and gloves that belonged to my mum in the 1980s. I think the best part of my day was arriving home to a warm bath – such bliss!

  1. Wow, it’s snowing over there! I only saw snow for the first time ever earlier this year, and I was totally fascinated with it because it doesn’t snow here.

  2. It is SO weird seeing snow posts from you haha. It’s in the middle of summer where I am, but I really like the change of scenery in your posts. My blogs go from summer this, summer that, summer this, oh hai look at all this snow! Anyway, LOVE the outfit and that clear coat is pretty much my favorite!

      • I’m not even sure, but I’m pretty sure it’s restricted to the north island though, it’s where the family are. That and I have an everlasting hatred for the ferry. Do you have any tips for Wellington? I know you’re Christchurch based but I loved your Wellington posts, you find the coolest places to go! :)

        • I usually just love walking around the city! It is so pretty! The museum, Te Papa, is definitely worth a visit – it is incredible! Another place I’d definitely recommend is a cafe on the waterfront called Cuckoo. It’s near the national art galleries, and instead of coffee tables it has vintage suitcases! So quirky and cute! x p.s. I agree – the ferry is awful. I’ve only been on twice, and it made me feel so ill!

  5. These are beautiful! The hat looks like it was made for you so I definitely agree with you keeping it for yourself for a while at least! As we are just entering summer here, I actually am REALLY excited to see such terrific winter photographs so I can live in all the seasons vicariously through the blogging world!
Hope you are having a wonderful day!

  6. What gorgeous photographs. It’s so weird to see snow when we are just heading into our hot months. Weird but good. Oh how I love ‘visiting’ other countries by reading blogs written by those who live afar!

Do you mean MESMERISED by snow? Memorized doesn’t really make any sense…

  8. It really must be the Canadian blood in my veins, but even after trudging through a lengthy winter, I can’t see beautiful snowy day outfits (and photos) like this and not pine a tad for the return of frozen months.

Thank you very much for your blog comment today, dear gal, it’s a pleasure to make your acquaintance.

  13. Snow! I do have to admit that I’m kind of envious. It hasn’t even hit summer here yet but I’m already ready for layers and tights. Also, it never ceases to blow my mind that the northern and southern hemispheres have opposite seasons! Even after learning it all those years ago in grade school, the thought is still kind of magical to me!

  18. I love this as a wintery look! I’m really bad at dressing for the cold – all style goes out of the window and the layers come out, making me look about a stone heavier than usual. I still love that it can be summer here, and winter for you, the world is fab!
