Firstly, I wanted to say a massive thank you for the wonderful reaction to the Apple Dress. The response has been so overwhelming, in the best possible way! Barnaby and I couldn’t believe how often our iPhones were lighting up – from tweets, comments, and Facebook notifications. Thank you thank you, it means so much!

To show off the apple dress, I’ll be styling it up to show how you could wear it for different ocassions. Today I’m sharing how you could wear it to a vintage picnic! I kept it super simple, as we were having the most beautiful summer day, and the cool breeze felt incredible on my skin. I scooped my hair into Heidi braids and wore my favourite t-bar flats. The number one essential for this look is (of course!) the picnic basket. Be sure to fill  it with all sorts of tasty treats! My absolute picnic favourite is fairy bread. It’s so delicious, and kind of like eating a rainbow, don’t you think!

Lots of Pretty Velvet!

Phew, it’s been a busy week! This vintage update is slightly tardy, but definitely worth the wait! There are so many pieces that I’m completely besotted with, so I’m sure that you’ll love them too! I’ve had all kinds of velvet luck recently – the best type of luck, if you ask me. The Cut Out Cutie dress has me particularly enchanted; the bust detail reminds me so much of the infamous Vivetta cat dress!

Tomorrow we’re up bright and early to catch a flight up to the capital city of Wellington. It’s been just over a year since our last visit, so I am crazy excited! Barnaby and I moved there for our first year of university, and it was actually the first time we’d ever lived together, so it has all kinds of lovely connotations. Just because I’m feeling extra happy, enter the code JETSET into the shop for 15% off your next order. This code will last until Monday; when I return from our little getaway!

More Pretty Vintage!

I couldn’t resist sharing some of my favourite new additions to the store. It was an amazing week of thrifting! My Mum spotted the glitter leotard, which (naturally) caused me to squeal in excitement. But the piece I’m particularly in love with is the dalmatian vest – here’s hoping the puppies go to a kind and vintage loving home!

We will be updating weekly with beautiful vintage finds – and there is something for everyone. Be sure to take a peek; there truly are some beauties!

In this post, you can see some of my favourite pieces. Click on the photograph to be taken to the corresponding page. I hope you have a wonderful time browsing the shop – I am so excited to be able to share retro goodies with you!

Indigo Adventure

I have exciting news! We’ve just set up The Grading Room; a pop up shop where you can purchase exclusive Lost in the Haze Photoshop actions. Barnaby truly is the ultimate colour expert, and I was so glad that he was willing to share! Photoshop actions are ridiculously easy to use; you just apply them over your photographs. I am so excited to share a selection of my favourite actions with you, though there are many more in store! Click on the photographs to visit the shop! (You can also view before and after shots!)

Fields of Daffodils

This action focuses on bringing out a beautiful 1970s-esque yellow luminosity. It truly is instant happiness, and can produces wonderful buttercup tones. Fields of Daffodils has a vintage film look, and makes any photograph look like blissful summer!

Midnight Moss

Midnight Moss is all about the green and brown shades! It is ideal for achieving forest tones, making you feel like a woodland elf! It makes the black tones extra dark, which completely sucks you into the photograph.

Fern River

Fern River is the ultimate whimsical Photoshop action. It helps to create an ethereal look to your photograph, by bringing out faded red and purple shades. It is reminiscent of vintage camera film, but without the developing time!

Deep Purple

Deep Purple is my absolute favourite action of them all! It focuses on the different shades of brown, mauve, and purple. It de-saturates the photographs, giving them a very ‘woodland’ feel, while still producing wonderfully dark shadows.

I wore a 1980s shirt which is covered in tiny embroidered zebras! The harmonica necklace I wore was courtesy of the lovely Wallpaper Rose. You can use the code LOSTINTHEHAZE to receive 10% off your jewelry order – thanks Louise!

They have arrived!

I woke up to a wonderful surprise in the letterbox today – the brand new clothing tags had arrived! They truly look great. They’ve made me so excited about opening the shop. Speaking of which, it will hopefully be up and running by the end of next week, so stay tuned!

In other news, I’m flying to New Zealand’s capital, Wellington, today! I bought a beautiful peach coloured vintage dress yesterday and have been using my new sewing machine to take it up in time for the flight! I can’t wait to show you pictures of it, especially with Wellington as the background!
